I never thought I’d be here, but here I am. My ultimate goal in life was to become a high school art teacher. That was the plan from when i was 13 until I turned 26. But as we all know, things don’t always go according to plan.

In 2017 when i turned 26, I was newly married to my high school sweetheart, living in the town we both grew up in with our three cats in a small apartment. Everything was going to plan when I applied for my second degree so I could become a teacher. However, we both wanted more in life away from the place that had sheltered us. Within a month from that epiphany, we were all packed up and headed to a new state for a new beginning, and I withdrew my acceptance to become a teacher.

Flash forward a couple of months into being in a new state, with no idea what to do next, I took that plan I had and mentally threw it out the window.

The secret unconventional dream I had growing up was to make art, so that is what I started doing. At the end of 2017 I started Lucky Shadow Shop with just two listings on Etsy and a million ideas in my head. For the first time in 5 years, I was making things again.

Another flash forward to 2019, and I offered my first wedding signage rentals to two friends who were getting married. After advertising those weddings to others, I booked 10 weddings my first year offering. The second year I booked 35 weddings. And the third year I booked 84.

Lucky Shadow Shop has evolved since I first began in 2017, but I’m so proud of where it has gotten to and I cannot wait to see where it takes me next. Thank you so much for being a part of my story!
